Cathy A. Tangretti, LCSW

Cathy A. Tangretti, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, received a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999 and currently works in the school setting providing mental health services to children and behavior support/program planning to teachers. Cathy has worked with children and families for over 20 years in multiple settings including schools, outpatient clinics, and residential programs. Additionally, Cathy is experienced in providing marriage counseling and individual adult therapy. Areas of focus include anxiety management, coping skill development, frustration tolerance, effective communication, decision-making skills, and recognition and replacement of maladaptive behavior patterns. Cathy uses a variety of Cognitive Behavioral and Reality therapy techniques, in addition to utilizing a Systems theory approach. She believes that individuals have the inherent ability to create change in their lives, and enjoys the opportunity to teach and empower people to do so.
